Vintage Car Rally on the Old Bethpage Motor Parkway Bridge on June 30, 2012
In celebration of the continuing efforts to preserve the Long Island Motor Parkway, members of the Long Island Motor Parkway Preservation Society and all owners of pre-1939 automobiles (the Parkway closed in 1938) are invited to rally at Old Bethpage Village Restoration on Saturday, June 30, 2012 and drive over the Old Bethpage Motor Parkway Bridge.

“Clean Up the Old Bethpage Motor Parkway Bridge Day” a Big Success & Bridge History
Thirty-three men and women of the Long Island Motor Parkway Preservation Society and the Model A Ford Club of Long Island experienced an exhilarating day restoring the Motor Parkway and the bridge in Old Bethpage Village Restoration. The Old Bethpage Motor Parkway Bridge is one of only two LIMP bridges still standing in Nassau County and was recently desecrated with graffiti and debris . Update #4: Damage to the Old Bethpage Village Restoration Motor Parkway Bridge
As reported over the last six months on VanderbiltCupRaces.com, the Old Bethpage Village Restoration Motor Parkway Bridge was subjected last year to dumping of debris and an attack by graffiti vandals. On Friday, members of the Long Island Motor Parkway Preservation Society, the Ford Model A Club and the Old BethpageVillage Restoration met to discuss next steps on the cleanup and restoration of one of only two existing Motor Parkway bridges in Nassau County :
